Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion

The classic alternative to “free-hand” anchoring

Rapid, safe handling with a variety of options

The CONTACT frame plate can be implanted using a minimally invasive, thoracoscopic or conventional technique. Unidimensional repositioning of mostly kyphotic deformities can be achieved using a minimalized retractor with variable blades positioned between the superior and inferior endplates, or following plate fixation in the event of structural damage to the plate of the vertebral body.

To facilitate rapid handling with minimal risk, a modular design as well as intraoperative adjustment options have been forfeited.
The angular variability of the screws of +/- 5° guarantees firm anchorage, also in conjunction with existing posterior instrumentation. Optional expansion screws also provide adequate shear resistance in the event of low bone density.
Alignment and anchorage ensue without prior mounting of a placement guide (“free-hand”).

Anterolateral Application

Singular anterior application:

  • Activated osteochondrosis with cage or auto-/allograft
  • Degenerative instability with cage or auto-/allograft
  • Post Discectomy Syndrome with fusion indication
  • Correction of kyphotic deformities

In conjunction with posterior instrumentation:

  • Tumours
  • Fractures/positive spondylodesis with loss of correction >150° and serious damage to the vertebral body
  • Post-traumatic deformities

Product-specific advantages

  • Large fixing elements ("no fiddling")
    • Suitable for endoscopic implantation
  • Variable-angle screws
    • No extra targeting device required (‘free-hand‘)
  • High angular and translational stability
    • Can be used as stand alone
  • Optional expanding screw
    • Increased shear resistance with low bone density
  • Low profile (< 10 mm)
    • Minimizes tissue irritation
  • Kyphotic plates
    • Accomodates natural curvature of the spine
