SIGNUS Code of Conduct

SIGNUS supports surgeons and medical professionals with innovative and safe solutions for the treatment of spinal disorders - for the best possible mobility of patients in everyday life.

It is a matter of course for us that for the fulfilment of this task we act responsibly, environmentally friendly and resource-preserving.

In doing so we are guided by the idea that the products we offer are manufactured and distributed in a way that respects and protects human rights and the environment, as well as the dignity of all employees, not only in our company, but also in the companies of our suppliers.

We observe and comply with the rules and regulations applicable in the laws of the European Union and the USA as countries of origin of our products, and act under the following guideline: Human rights are rights that derive from and are based on human dignity; rights that are inalienable, indivisible and indispensable. These rights apply to all people, regardless of where they live and regardless of how they live. In accordance with the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" of the United Nations of December 10, 1948, we have listed some rights to which we explicitly refer and to the observance of which we pay particular attention:

  • All people are equal before the law.
    We do not tolerate any discrimination based on national or ethnic origin, religion, age, gender, political opinion or worldview, disability or similar.
  • Everyone has the right to education, freedom of speech and peaceful assembly.
    We support and provide free access to education and reject censorship with regard to freedom of opinion, ban on peaceful assemblies, disrespect for freedom of association and free speech.
  • We do not tolerate any form of child or forced labor or slavery.
    We do not employ children under the age of 15 and are aware of our special responsibility for minors, e.g. in the area of education and professionl training. We do not tolerate any form of forced labor, where people are forced to perform certain services and actions under the threat of punishment. We do not tolerate any form of slavery, where people are exploited or humiliated by extreme economic oppression or any other from of oppression.
  • Everyone has the right to work, protection at work and adequate pay.
    We do not tolerate any discrimination with regard to the allocation and quality of jobs, we are committed to the applicable regulations for safety at work, as well as compliance with applicable safety standards for hazard and accident prevention. We pay adequate salaries, which are under no circumstances below the minimum wage applicable in the region of employment.
  • We all have a responsibilities towards others
    This applies in particular to the observance of applicable environmental and nature protection guidelines in transport, production and storage, as well as to the preservation of natural resources and continuous ecological improvement.

We expect our suppliers to observe and comply with country-specific laws, regulations and obligations, in particular human rights, as well as their commitment to adopt our demands and requirements as binding.

In the event that we become aware of irregularities or violations of the above demands, requirements and obligations, we will immediately take appropriate corrective measures.
All of this will be reviewed and documented on a regular basis and stored as required.
